Laura J Adams was raised by artistically minded parents, which engaged a passion for art at a very young age. She nurtured her love of the arts whilst growing up, and her interest for working in charcoal emerged whilst studying Fine Art at Falmouth University, where she graduated in 2014 with First Class Honours.

From initial exploratory drawings in charcoal, which recorded an obsessive search to understand a personal internal struggle, Adams was encouraged to create moving imagery. In 2014 her work was shortlisted for the MIDAS award, where her art was displayed at the Newlyn Gallery in Penzance. Her work also selected and shown at ‘The Best of the West’ exhibition in Corsham (2014), and with the ‘Falmouth Fine Art’ Exhibition at the Rag Factory in London (2014). Adams was born in Portsmouth, UK in 1992, where she currently lives and works.
